How to Use Your Brand Photos for the Next 6 Months

So, you've had your brand photoshoot. You have a beautiful gallery full of images we created together and that you love — but now what?

One of the biggest mistakes I see business owners make is having a brand photoshoot, posting a few of their favourite images on Instagram, and then letting the rest of their gallery sit untouched.

You can use your images more strategically.

When planned properly, one photoshoot can give you a bank of content you can use across your website, Instagram, email marketing, blogs, launches and more — helping your business look consistent, professional and recognisably you for months to come.

Here's how I recommend making the most of your images.

Month 1: Introduce the new you

Start by using your new images to refresh your online presence.

Update your:

  • Website

  • Instagram profile photo

  • About page

  • LinkedIn profile

  • Email signature

  • Social media profiles

This is also a great time to introduce your new imagery to your audience.

You could share a simple post about your photoshoot, tell people why you decided to invest in new brand photography, or share a little behind-the-scenes of the experience.

Don't feel like you have to share everything at once. Your gallery is a content library, not a one-week supply of Instagram posts.

Month 2: Show people what you do

Now it's time to use your photos to tell the story of your business.

Think beyond the traditional smiling-at-the-camera portrait.

Use images of you working, creating, meeting clients, using your tools, preparing for a project or simply doing the things that make up your working day.

These photographs help potential clients understand what you actually do and, more importantly, what it might feel like to work with you.

Pair them with educational posts, FAQs, tips or stories about your business.

Month 3: Let your personality come through

People are interested in who you are.

This is where those more relaxed, personality-led images become incredibly valuable.

Use them alongside posts that tell people a little more about you:

“5 things you might not know about me.”

“A typical day in my business.”

“Why I started my business.”

“What I believe about (your industry).”

“The things I wish I knew when I started.”

Your brand photos give you the opportunity to show up consistently without feeling like you have to take a new selfie every time you want to post.

Month 4: Sell your services

Your photos aren't just there to make your feed look pretty.

They should help you sell.

Use your images alongside content that explains your services, answers objections and shows the transformation you provide.

For example:

  • What happens when someone works with you?

  • Who is your service for?

  • What problem do you solve?

  • What makes your approach different?

  • What does the process look like?

  • What results can clients expect?

A strong brand image can make this type of content feel much more personal and engaging.

Instead of constantly using graphics or stock images, you're putting yourself and your brand at the centre of your marketing.

Month 5: Create connection

By this point, your audience has seen what you do.

Now show them why they should choose you.

Share client stories, testimonials, your business journey, lessons you've learned and things you care about.

Use different images from your gallery to keep your content visually fresh.

You might even find that an image you initially overlooked becomes one of your favourites once it's paired with the right story.

Month 6: Reuse, repurpose and refresh

Six months in, don't assume you've “used up” your photos.

You haven't.

One photograph can be used in multiple ways.

A single image could appear on:

Your website → Instagram → a blog → an email → Pinterest → LinkedIn → a sales page

And nobody is going to remember that you used the same photograph three months ago.

Your audience isn't seeing every single thing you post.

So don't be afraid to reuse your strongest images.

You can also revisit your original content and give it a new angle. A post you shared three months ago might have a completely different message now.

Think of your photos as a visual content library

This is why I love brand photography.

A brand shoot isn't simply about getting a collection of beautiful portraits.

It's about creating a visual library for your business.

Images that show your personality.

Images that communicate what you do.

Images that build trust.

Images that give you something to share when you don't know what to post.

Images that make your website feel like your business.

And, most importantly, images that allow you to show up consistently without having to constantly think about what photograph you should use.

Before your next photoshoot, think beyond the headshot

When planning a brand photoshoot, think about where you're going to use your images before you even step in front of the camera.

What pages are on your website?

What do you regularly post about?

Do you launch new services?

Do you send emails to your audience?

Do you write blogs?

Do you need images with space for text?

Do you want more personal photographs that allow your audience to get to know you?

The more intentional you are about these things, the more useful your final gallery will be.

Your brand photos should work as hard as you do.

A well-planned photoshoot can give you months of content, help you show up more consistently and make every part of your online presence feel more cohesive.

So when you book your next brand shoot, don't just think:

“I need some new photos.”

Think:

“I need a visual library that tells my story and supports my business for the next six months.”
